can anything good come from Nazareth?

Zephaniah 3

Judgment on Jerusalem and the Nations

"1 Woe to her who is rebellious and defiled,
the oppressing city!
2 She listens to no voice;
she accepts no correction.
She does not trust in the LORD;
she does not draw near to her God.
3 Her officials within her
are roaring lions;
her judges are evening wolves
that leave nothing till the morning.
4 Her prophets are fickle, treacherous men;(G) her priests profane what is holy; they do violence to the law.
5The LORD within her is righteous;
he does no injustice;
every morning he shows forth his justice;
each dawn he does not fail;
but the unjust knows no shame."

hm. Zephaniah describes Jerusalem, a rebellious and defiled city.
i think i live in a rebellious and defiled, and oppressing city too.

"5 But the Lord is still there in the city,
and he does no wrong."
"5 Yet God remains righteous in her midst,
untouched by the evil.
He stays at it, day after day, meting out justice.
At evening he's still at it, strong as ever."

in the midst of the city, the Lord is good. He's the Treasure buried in a field. He's the Rose amongst thorns. and He is still here...even here.

Thank you for posting. I admire your faith. When I look at my own life, I get so discouraged sometimes. Not just feeling low, but I hit rock bottom more often than not. I'm not saying that I think you're perfect or anything, its just that God encourages me through the words you write. Thanks for posting.

Thank you, Liv, for that scripture....I'm praying for your city that Christ will rebuild in the hearts of men and women what people through the ages have shut out and ignored..... that the DTES will give GOD the praise, for in that city, He is especially accessable. Praise to the God who was, and is and is to come.....He is making all things new, Liv -- and you are one of the construction workers!

BTW -- perhaps a prophetic word from the blogspot security verification -- the word I just had to type in to post this was ONWARD...
